How do I change the password for a secondary FTP account?

To change the password of a secondary FTP account, you should delete the secondary ftp account and then recreate it. This will allow our system to auto-generate a new password for the secondary ftp account (ie. Secondary ftp passwords cannot be customized - they must system-generated for security purposes).

Please follow these steps:

1. Login to the Netfirms Control Panel
2. Click Site Tools
3. Click FTP Manager
4.Using the Delete button, delete the user
5. Re-add the user: To add an account enter a Root Directory (the folder on your website that the FTP user will be restricted to).

NOTE: Entering "/" would give the account access to your entire website. Entering "/graphics" would give access only to the graphics folder. When you configure the Directory Path, if the directory does not exist yet, it will be automatically created on the user's account

6. Click "Create FTP User" to activate the account. The password will be system-generated each time a user is created.
