This article assumes that you already have the Wordpress.com Stats plugin installed on your blog. If you installed Wordpress 2.7.1 from your Netfirms Control Panel or had it automated at sign-up then this plugin has been pre-installed for you. You may retrieve a copy of it from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/stats/ and follow the standard plugin installation instructions.
If you have the plugin installed, you will notice when you log in to the Wordpress administration section, a warning message stating the following:

If you already have a Wordpress API, then click the link and enter in the API. Once that is done your stats will start collecting and you will be able to view them from the Dashboard in your Wordpress adminsitration section. If you do not already have an API please follow these instructions.
The API Key is free, but it does require you visiting their
site and creating an account. Please visit
http://www.wordpress.com/signup. Enter your personal information and at the bottom choose “Just a username, please.”
Once you have created and verified your account, log in at http://www.wordpress.com/wp-login.php.
Click on the “Profile” link and you will see at the very top, your
WordPress.com API Key. We’re going to use this soon so keep it
available to you by recording it somewhere.
Click on the link in the warning message which brings you here and enter in the API you received from your Wordpress.com account.

Once you've entered in your API, your stats are ready to go. To access your stats, click on the Blog Stats link just below the Dashboard in your Wordpress admin section which takes you to your newly installed blog statistics.
You will obviously receive more detailed statistics by using an analytics program such as Google Analytics but the Wordpress stats plugin gives you specific blog stats at a quick glance.
