To upload your websites using Fetch, follow these steps:
1. Open your
Fetch Program
2. Enter the FTP
information (refer to your Netfirms Welcome Letter) provided with your hosting account:
Hostname: yourdomain.com (or username.netfirms.com)
Username: Your username
Connect using
FTP
Enter your
FTP password
You may “Add
to keychain” if you would like Fetch to remember your password automatically
Initial
folder: www/domain.com/
Port: 21
Try to
connect – 5 times
3. Once you are
connected, Fetch will display as below.
If you wish to upload your files, click on the Put” button
4. The following
screen will be displayed. You will need
to browse to the folder where the files you wish to upload are located.
5. Once you are
in that folder, please highlight all of the files (highlight one
file and then scroll down to the last file holding the shift button)
Once you have highlighted all of the
files you wish to upload, click the “Put” button.
REMINDER: Please ensure that your homepage is named
index.html
6. The file
transfer will begin uploading your files to your website. Please allow a few minutes for the upload to
complete.
7. Once you have
completed the upload, your files will be available on the Internet.
