How do I create and save my web pages using Microsoft Publisher 2003?

To create and save your web pages using Microsoft Publisher 2003 please follow the instructions below:

I. SAVING YOUR SITE AS WEB PAGES

In order to view your publisher web site on our servers, you must convert your publisher site to html pages and image files:

1. Open your .pub file in Publisher
2. From the toolbar menu go to File
3. From the pull-down menu choose Open
4. Once you have opened your .pub file you must save it as a web page: From the toolbar menu go to File and then select "Publish to the Web" from the pull-down menu

II. CONNECT TO YOUR WEB ACCOUNT

5. You will now see the Publish to the Web window.  The file name will automatically default to index, and it is not suggested to rename it.  From the drop down list (next to Save in) please select "Add/Modify FTP Locations"

6. You will now enter the following information:

Name of FTP site: membername.netfirms.com
User: membername
Password: your password

and press OK

These details were e-mailed to you in a letter titled "Welcome Letter".

7. Your FTP location has now been successfully added.  Double-click on it, as displayed below:

8. Your computer is now connecting to our FTP server.  Upon successful connection, you will see your web folders (cgi-bin and www) as shown below:

9. Double-click on the www folder.

NOTE: If  you have a registered domain on your account then double click the www folder to display the subfolder created for your domain.  The "index.html" file should be within your "www/yourdomain.com/" directory.  "index.html" will be the main page of your site.

10. Once you are in the correct directory, press Save.  Your files are now being saved to your Netfirms account.  Once this process has been complete, your web site will become viewable on the web.
