Why did my domain registrar transfer fail?

Your domain registrar transfer may fail if:
  • you are trying to transfer a Top Level Domain that we do not yet support (Domain Registar transfer is currently supported for .com, .net, .org, and .ca domains)
  • your domain is registered with us already
  • your domain is not registered yet
  • your .com or .net or .org domain is locked
  • your domain is set to private
  • your .com or .net or org domain was registered or transfered within the last 60 days (ICANN regulations prohibit transferring a domain name that has been registered or previously transferred within the last 60 days.)
  • your .ca is in suspended status (eg. within 30 days)
  • your .com or .net or .org domain has been registered or renewed less than 60 days with current registrar
  • your .ca domain has been registered or renewed less than 30 days with current registrar
  • you failed to confirm the Registrar transfer request by following the instructions within the confirmation e-mail sent to your Administrative contact e-mail address after initiating the registrar transfer with Netfirms
The following is a guideline to successfully transfering your domain's registrar to Netfirms:

1. Only .com, .net, .org, and .ca domains can be transfered to Netfirms registrar
2. Only domains that are not on REGISTRAR-HOLD, REGISTRAR-LOCK, SUPSENDED, or EXPIRED may be transfered to Netfirms registrar
3. Your administrative contact should point to your current e-mail address
4. Check your email after initiating a registrar transfer and ensure you follow the specific instructions on how to successfully complete the registrar transfer

For ICANN transfer policy, refer to their website: http://www.icann.org/en/transfers/policy-en.htm
