Below is a guide to Domain Name Statuses for .com, .org, .net, .info, .biz, and .ca domains:

REDEMPTIONPERIOD/PENDING DELETE RESTORABLE
-The registry sets this status when a registrar requests that the domain name be deleted from the registry and the domain has been registered for more than 5 calendar days (if the delete request is received within 5 days of initial domain registration it will instead be deleted immediately).
-The domain will not be included in the zone because it has expired.
-The domain can not be modified or purged; it can only be restored which would require the domain owner to pay a redemption/penalty fee as well as the renewal fee to renew the domain.
-Any other registrar requests to modify or otherwise update the domain will be rejected.
-The domain will be held in this status for a maximum of 30 calendar days.
-PENDING DELETE RESTORABLE is a status reserved for .info and .org domains

For .com, .net, .org , .info, .biz domains:
To reclaim ownership of your domain and avoid losing the domain when it gets released at the end of the redemption period, you may do so by remitting payment for the following:
Redemption Fee = $135 USD (this fee is subject to change and is required to get the domain back from the registry)
Domain Renewal Fee = $9.95 USD (to renew domain for one year)
Kindly reply to this e-mail to signify your agreement of the redemption and domain renewal charges and call us at 1-877-399-9909 or 416-661-2100 with the card number you would like to use for the payment. Once we receive your agreement to pay the redemption and domain renewal charges we will proceed
with the renewal and billing process.
For .ca domains:
A .ca domain name can still be renewed if it has become suspended due to non-renewal, up until the end of the 30 day suspension period. At the end of the 30 day suspension period, the domain name is cancelled and added to the TBR (To Be Released) List. Domains on this TBR list are then released to the public during an upcoming TBR.

Domains Not Being Billed Through Netfirms Registrar:
To renew the domain name during the redemption period (eg. to minimize risk of someone else registering your domain name after the redemption period) we suggest you contact your domain registrar.

Once your domain is renewed, your website, email, and all other hosting services related to the domain will resume. If you wish to have Netfirms host your domain's website and e-mail services, we recommend that you transfer your domain to Netfirms.

To transfer your domain to Netfirms so that we may host your domain name/website /email, please contact your registrar and have them unlock your domain and point your domain to the following Netfirms nameservers:

ns1.netfirms.com
ns2.netfirms.com

NOTE: The transfer can take anywhere from 24-72 hours depending on when your registrar makes the change. Please refer to http://support.netfirms.com/article.php?id=660 for specific instructions on how to update your nameservers through your domain registrar.

Once the full propagation of your domain has completed your Web/E-mail services along with any domain and email forwarding rules you have configured on your account with Netfirms will be functional.

-If the registrar fails to provide documentation to the registry within 7 calendar days to confirm the restoration request, the domain will revert to REDEMPTIONPERIOD status.
