How do I register a second level (provincial level) .CA domain?

Second level (ie. provincial level) domains have a regional extension (specifically .on.ca, .bc.ca etc). However they are NOT municipal domain registrations and do not require any Geographic Database confirmation from CIRA. If you are interested in registering a provincial level .CA domain, you must either:

  • Own the .CA OR
  • Be authorized (authorization forms are available directly from CIRA at http://www.cira.ca/cira-forms/) by the existing owner of the .CA to register the regional extension.
If you meet the above requirements, call us and provide us with your credit card details. If you don't currently own the .CA domain, we will send you an email follow-up which you will be required to reply back to with a copy of the authorization form.
