Information about who is the owner or contact of a domain name is publicly available to allow for rapid resolution of technical problems and to permit enforcement of consumer protection, trademark and other laws. If Netfirms is the registrar for your domain, you can manage your Domain (eg. update the nameservers, change the contact information as listed in WHOIS, etc.) through the Netfirms Control Panel. Any changes/modifications will propagate throughout the Internet within 24-72 hours (standard time for propagation):
1. Login to the Netfirms Control Panel at https://controlpanel.netfirms.com: 2. Click Domains
3. For the Domain name in question, click Admin
4. Click DNS Admin
For .com, .org, .info, .biz, and .net domains:
Follow the Admin/Technical/Billing/Nameserver sections to modify each accordingly.
NOTE: In order to modify nameservers for your domain, your domain must be in UNLOCK status first.
For .ca domains:
1. To change the Admin Contact information, enter the new information
2. To change the Name Servers your domain points to, enter the new nameservers
NOTE For .ca Domain Owners: During Step 4 of the CIRA .ca registration approval process, if you chose: "No, I do not want my Registrar Netfirms, Inc. to change administrative contact information on my behalf and/or on behalf of the Applicant, without requiring verification from me and/or the applicant.", then CIRA will send an email to your admin contact email address and ask you to use your CIRA username and password to login tohttps://registrants.cira.ca/user to verify the requested changes. If you have lost your CIRA username and password, please reply back to Netfirms Support (support@netfirms.com) to have the information re-sent to your Admin contact email address.
If your domain name was not registered through Netfirms contact the original Domain Registrar to manage your Domain Name. If you are unsure of who your Domain Registrar is click the Whois link beside the Domain Name in the Netfirms Control Panel.
