How do I host a web site for each of my domains I own through one hosting plan?

To host a web site for each of your domains (multiple website hosting) through one hosting plan, please follow these steps:

A. Upload Files to FTP Account

Using an FTP tool (eg. Filezilla), create a directory for each of your domain pointers. The directory or file folder should be the name of your domain (eg. myotherdomain.com). Each directory should contain the web files for each domain's web site.

B. Add Domain Pointers Through The Members Control Panel
If you have not registered your domain name yet follow these steps:

1. Login to the Control Panel at https://controlpanel.netfirms.com
2. Click Domains
3. Choose Domains
4. Click Add

4. From the New Domain tab, follow the onscreen prompts to register a new domain

If you have already registered your domain but need to transfer it to Netfirms follow these steps:

1. Login to the Control Panel at https://controlpanel.netfirms.com
2. Click Domains
3. Choose Domains
4. Click Add

4. Click the Transfer tab and follow the onscreen prompts to either registrar transfer your domain to Netfirms or do a DNS Transfer for your domain with one of the following options:

Registrar Transfer
If your domain is currently being billed by another provider, you should choose this option to registrar transfer to Netfirms so you can benefit from Netfirms' lowest domain pricing. Once you registrar transfer your domain, Netfirms will be able to renew your domain for you.

OR

DNS Transfer
If you do not wish to renew your domain through Netfirms, choose this option to simply change the nameservers where your domain points to so that Netfirms can host your domain.

C. Edit the Forwarding Location of the Domain Pointer:

5. For the domain you wish to configure, click the pencil and paper icon.
6. Enter the forwarding location using the following guidelines:

Example #1 (note the required trailing slash in each example):

If you have transferred, registered, or imported a domain called myseconddomain.com to your account, /www/myseconddomain.com/ will be automatically created on your web account and the following forwarding location will also be automatically configured in the Domains section of your Netfirms Control Panel:

myseconddomain.com -> /myseconddomain.com/

If you type in a relative path such as the above, the pointer domain in the browser will display the content for that location of your web directory. The domain you typed into the browser is the domain name visible in the browser address bar.

Example #2:

http://www.anywebsiteyouwish.com

If you type in an absolute path such as Example #2, the pointer domain will redirect to that URL, and display that name in the browser address bar.

NOTE: By default, once a domain is added into your account, a subfolder for that domain will automatically be created in your www folder. In addition, a forwarding location for your newly added domain will be automatically configured in the Domains section of your Netfirms Control Panel.
