Before you begin, you should consider the following:
- Put a list together of all the products that you wish to sell including pricing information
- Set up a merchant account. Here are some of the many merchant accounts that Netfirms Commerce Pro supports: Authorize.net, WorldPay, LinkPoint, PayPal, etc.
- Determine how your products will be delivered to your customers. Some of your delivery methods may include: Federal Express, Canada Post, UPS, etc.
I. Installing Netfirms Commerce Pro
- Login to the Netfirms Members Control Panel at https://controlpanel.netfirms.com
- Click Site Tools
- Under the Applications section, click Commerce Pro
- Follow the onscreen prompts to install Commerce Pro to your account
II. Configuring your Store
- While logged into the Netfirms Control Panel, access Site Tools
- Under the Applications section, click Commerce Pro
- For the store you wish to configure, click Admin
- Highlight each item in this section and click the Edit button to modify the store configurations.

III. Filling your Store with Products
We recommend that you remove the default categories and products and then follow the onscreen prompts to add/move new categories/products as required. To remove the default Categories/Products, please follow the instructions below:
1. While logged into the Commerce Pro Admin section, click Catalog.
2. In the Catalog menu, click Categories/Products.
3. For each Category/Product, click the Delete button and follow the onscreen prompts to remove the default Category/Product. Then Add products that you wish to sell.
Products Attributes
Follow the onscreen prompts to insert/edit/delete new and/or existing attributes for your products. Attributes include color, size, model, memory, version, and language. To remove the default Product Attributes, please follow the instructions below:
1. While logged into the Netfirms Commerce Pro Admin section, click Catalog
2. In the Catalog menu, click Products Attributes.
3. For each Product Attribute, click the Delete button and follow the onscreen prompts to remove the default Category/Product. Then follow the onscreen prompts to configure product attributes.
Manufacturers
We recommend that you remove the default manufacturers and then follow the onscreen prompts to add/move new manufacturers as required. To remove the default Categories/Products, please follow the instructions below:
1. Login to the Netfirms Members Control Panel at https://controlpanel.netfirms.com.
2. Click Site Tools.
3. Click Commerce Pro link.
4. For the store you wish to configure, click the Admin link and login.
5. Click Catalog.
6. In the Catalog menu, click Manufacturers.
7. For each Manufacturer, click the Delete button and follow the onscreen prompts to remove the default Category/Product.
IV. Configuring Payment Methods
- While logged into the Netfirms Commerce Pro Admin section, click Modules
- Click Payment
Installing module: Highlight each payment module and click the Install button to install the module.
Editing module:You may also edit the module settings by clicking the Edit button for the payment module you wish to modify and then click the Update button once modifications have been made.
Sort the order of modules that are displayed:To change the order in which the payment module appears highlight the module and then click the Edit button. Modify the Sort Order of Display field whereby the lowest number is displayed first.
NOTE: Please ensure that you have signed up for an account with each of the merchant vendors that you choose to use for collecting payment.
V. Configuring Shipping Methods
- While logged into the Netfirms Commerce Pro Admin section, click Modules
- Click Shipping
Installing module: Highligh each shipping module and click the Install button to install the module.
Editing module:You may also edit the module settings by clicking the Edit button for the shipping module you wish to modify and then click the Update button once modifications have been made.
Sort the order of modules that are displayed:To change the order in which the shipping module appears highlight the module and then click the Edit button. Modify the Sort Order of Display field whereby the lowest number is displayed first.
VI. Browsing to your New Online Store
To make your new online store your homepage, follow these steps:
If you wish to make your store catalog your home page then simply redirect your homepage to your store catalog address. To do this, you can do the following:
