POP e-mail
programs such as Outlook Express, Outlook, Netscape Messenger, or
Eudora requires the following information to access your domain E-mail
(where yourdomain.com is your domain hosted at Netfirms):
E-mail Address: yourname@yourdomain.com
Incoming Mail Server (POP): pop.yourdomain.com (port 110)
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.yourdomain.com OR your ISP's smtp address (port 587)
POP Account Name: e-mail@yourdomain.com
Password: Your WebMail Password
My (SMTP) Server Requires Authentication: this should have a check mark in the check box
NOTE:
Verizon customers should be aware that their ISP is securing their
network and restricting SMTP access - Port 25 on Verizon is no longer
supported:
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/securityfix/2009/02/verizon_to_implement_spam_bloc.html.
This is the case for many other ISP's as well. Please check with your
ISP for further details.
