Joomla is a content management system (CMS) that allows you to build and manage website pages and content via a web-based interface. Joomla allows you to build and manage a web portal, news website or small business website complete with interactive forms, surveys and voting booths. Joomla is a full-featured content management system (CMS). To find out if your current hosting account includes Joomla look for the Add New button in the Site Tools section of your Control Panel. Or visit the Netfirms Compare Plans page.

To install Joomla to your account, follow these steps:

1. Login to the Netfirms Control Panel at https://controlpanel.netfirms.com
2. Click Applications
3. Click Joomla!
4. Click Add
   
5. From the Domain pull-down menu, select a domain to install Joomla to
6. In the Path box, enter a directory to install Joomla to (or enter / to install to default home page).
7. Click Add
8. The Administrative user name and password for your new Joomla installation will be e-mailed to the admin email address for your Netfirms hosting account (to verify which address this is, click Accounts, User Profile while in the Netfirms Control Panel). Once you have received the admin login details, click the Admin button to login and administer your new Joomla installation
9. The URL to view your new Joomla website is displayed in the Control Panel as well (to the left of the Admin button). Before you visit your Joomla site, you will be required remove the installation directory that was created during the joomla installation:

a. From the Netfirms Control Panel, click Hosting

b. Choose Files
c. Click File Manager

d. Click www

e. Locate the location where you installed Joomla and then find the installation directory

f. Check off the installation directory and then click Delete
