Statcounter is a free yet reliable invisible web tracker, highly configurable hit counter and real-time detailed web stats (This does not require the use of log files at all). Insert a simple piece of code on your web page or blog and you will be able to analyse and monitor all the visitors to your website in real-time! Here are the instructions to implement Statcounter:

A. INSTALL STATCOUNTER

1. To install Statcounter for your website hosted at Netfirms, please sign up for a free Statcounter account at http://statcounter.com

B. CONFIGURE STATCOUNTER

2. Follow the steps provided by Statcounter for creating a profile for your domain.
3. Once these steps are completed, Statcounter will provide you with some HTML code that you are required to copy to your index.html/php file which looks similar to this:

4. To add the HTML code please follow these steps:

a) Using either an FTP client such as Filezilla, or your Netfirms File Manager, please locate your homepage (usually named index.html or index.htm or index.php)

b) Scroll down to the bottom of the file where you see the following tag: </body>

*c) Right before the </body> tag, please paste the lines of HTML code provided by Statcounter.

d) Save the changes

C. ACCESS YOUR WEBSTATS VIA STATCOUNTER

5. To access your webstats, log in to your Statcounter account. Each time your website is loaded the action taken is recorded on your profile at Statcounter.
