How do I lock or unlock my domain registered with Netfirms?

.org, .com, .info, .biz, .net Domain Names
To lock or unlock your .org, .com, .info, .biz, .net domain name, please follow these steps:
  1. Login to Netfirms Members Control Panel at https://controlpanel.netfirms.com
  2. Click Domains
  3. For the domain you wish to lock/unlock, click Admin
  4. Click DNS Admin
  5. Click Domain Locking
  6. To lock your domain, click Enable and then Submit. To unlock your domain, click Disable and then Submit.
When locking is enabled for a domain, any requests to transfer the domain to another registrar or hosting company will automatically fail. This can be used to prevent fraudulent transfers of the domain, while locking is enabled.

Should you ever want to transfer the domain, or modify nameservers based on the domain, domain locking must first be disabled, before the relevant action is performed.

NOTE: If your domain was not regsitered via Netfirms Registrar, please contact your registrar to request your domain to be locked/unlocked. To find out who your registrar is, you can perform a whois query on your domain at http://www.allwhois.com.

.ca Doman Names
There is no lock/unlock option for .ca domain names.
