Coppermine Photo Gallery is a full features self-contained photo gallery website. Create interactive photo albums using prebuilt themes and templates. For more information about Coppermine, visit their homepage at: Homepage: http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/
1. Download the cpg1.4.4.zip file from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/coppermine/cpg1.4.4.zip?download
2. Unzip the file on your local computer
3. Create a folder in your Netfirms account called gallery (under /www using FTP)
4. Upload the contents of the extracted cpg144 folder into the gallery folder you just created.
5. Once the files have been been uploaded to the Netfirms server you need to change the permissions on the following folders within the /www/gallery folder you created:
/albums (777) /include (777) (Use your FTP program to change file permissions)
6. This script requires a database. If you haven’t already created a database you should create one now.
7. Access the Coppermine installer located at http://www.yourdomain.com/gallery/install.php
8. Follow the onscreen instructions:
a) Admin account, create a username and password for gallery management
b) MySQl configuration. Note: MySQL host should be MYSQLHOST, all other info get from database you created in Step 6
c) Image Magik path – leave blank (not required)
d) Click the Lets Go button
9. Click the Lets Continue button upon successful installation. This will automatically log you in as an administrator.
10. Your gallery is now accessable from http://www.yourdomain.com/gallery Typically you would link to your photo gallery from your homepage or nav bar.
11. To upload new photos and create new gallerys:
a) Login to the Coppermine admin account from http://www.yourdomain.com/gallery/login.php (you are probably already logged in if you have been following these steps)
b) Click the Albums menu tab
c) Click the New Album button. Rename the new album and click Apply modifications
d) Now click the Upload file link (browse for files on your computer) and click Continue
e) Click Continue
f) Select the gallery you wish to place the image in, and enter an image name / description.
12. To view your gallery like someone visiting your website would see it be sure to click the logout link (whenever you are logged in more menu options are visible).
