You may host a
separate website for each of your domain names even if the domains
reside on a single Netfirms hosting account. Each of your domains can
be configured to point to another location within your Netfirms hosting
account OR to an externally hosted site.
To forward your website to another location, please follow these steps:
1. Login to the Netfirms Control Panel at https://controlpanel.netfirms.com 2. Click Domains
3. Choose Domain Manager
4. If the domain has not been added to your account yet, click Add
5. Enter the domain you wish to add to your hosting account
Registrar Transfer
If
your domain is currently being billed through a different company, you
may do a registrar transfer of the domain to take advantage of
Netfirms' lowest domain pricing. Simply enter your domain name to the
Registrar Transfer section.
DNS Transfer
If
you wish to continue to be billed by your current registrar for your domain but host the domain at Netfirms enter your domain name to the DNS Transfer section.
Once
you have initiated a transfer process you will need to ensure that the
Name Server information associated with your Domain Name so it is
hosted at Netfirms.
The Netfirms nameservers are: ns1.netfirms.com
ns2.netfirms.com

Note: It typically takes 24-72 hours for domains to be transferred by your domain registrar.
6. For the domain you wish to configure, repeat steps #2,3 above
7. For the domain you wish to forward, click the plus sign towards the left of the Domain NameIn the Source tab, enter the Home Directory or the Forwarding URL
Home Directory
If you type in a
relative path, the pointer domain in the browser will display the
content for that location of your web directory. The domain you typed
into the browser is the domain name visible in the browser address bar.
Example of a relative path (note the required trailing slash in the example below): /myotherdomain.com/

Forwarding URL
If you type in an absolute path in the Forwarding URL box, the domain will redirect to that URL, and display that name in the browser address bar.
Example of an absolute path: http://www.anywebsiteyouwish.com
HINT:
If you wish to point to a specific file, you must rename your file to
index.htm, index.html, or index.php and place the file into a folder.
NOTE: When forwarding a folder, the folder name must not contain any illegal characters (eg. underscores are not permitted).
